Is Dhatas Remote free?
Yes. It is free for personal and business use, with no account and no session time limit.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Install the app and you get a 9-digit ID straight away.
Which operating systems are supported?
Windows 10 and Windows 11. Android is planned.
How do I connect to another computer?
Install Dhatas Remote on both PCs, enter the other PC's 9-digit ID and click Connect. The person at that PC clicks Accept. Step-by-step guide.
Can someone connect to my PC without asking?
No. Every connection needs you to click Accept, unless you set an unattended access password yourself.
Can I connect to my own PC when nobody is there?
Yes, with unattended access. Set a password in Security on that PC, then connect with its ID and the password. How to set it up.
Is my session encrypted?
Yes. Screen and keyboard data are encrypted end to end between the two PCs and are never recorded.
Does it work across different networks?
Yes. If a direct connection is blocked, an encrypted relay server is used automatically. No port forwarding is needed.
Does it support multiple monitors?
Yes. Switch between the remote PC's screens from the session toolbar.
Can I use it on a slow internet connection?
Yes. Choose Balanced or Low data quality for mobile hotspots and slow links.
Can I let someone watch my screen without controlling it?
Yes. Tick View only when you accept, or switch it on during the session.
Does Dhatas Remote update itself?
Yes. Updates download in the background and install when you restart the app.
What does Windows "unknown publisher" mean when installing?
Windows shows this for newer apps. Click More info, then Run anyway. It will go away once our code-signing certificate is in place.
What information does Dhatas Remote record?
For security it records the PC name, Windows user name, Windows version, hardware summary, screen sizes, IP address and app version, plus who connected to whom and when. Screens and keystrokes are never recorded. See the privacy policy.
Is Dhatas Remote an AnyDesk or TeamViewer alternative?
Yes. It covers the common remote support needs on Windows for free. Compare with AnyDesk or TeamViewer.
How do I contact Dhatas Remote support?

What should I do if a stranger asks me to install a remote app?
