Is remote desktop safe?
Remote desktop software is safe when you only accept connections from people you know and trust. Dhatas Remote encrypts every session and never allows a connection unless you click Accept or set a password yourself. The main risk is scammers who phone you and ask you to install a remote app, so never accept a request from a stranger.
How Dhatas Remote protects you
- Accept on every session. A request shows the PC name and ID of who is connecting. Nothing happens until you click Accept, and it is rejected automatically after 30 seconds.
- Always visible. A red bar shows who is connected for the entire session, with a Disconnect button.
- View only. Tick View only when accepting, or switch it on during a session, to stop all mouse and keyboard control.
- Encrypted end to end. Your screen and keystrokes travel encrypted between the two PCs and are never recorded.
- Block IDs. Block any ID with one click so it can never send you a request again.
- Password protection. Unattended access passwords are stored only on your PC and lock after five wrong tries.
- Misuse reporting. Devices used for scams can be blocked from the service entirely.
Warning signs of a remote access scam
- Someone calls claiming to be from your bank, a payment app, a courier, a telecom company, the police or a government office.
- They say there is a problem with your account, a refund, a KYC update or a parcel, and ask you to install a remote access app.
- They ask you to open your banking app or enter an OTP while they are connected.
- They pressure you to act quickly.
Banks, payment apps and Dhatas staff will never ask you to install a remote app or share your screen. If this happens, end the call, click Disconnect, and report it to the National Cyber Crime helpline 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in. Please also email the ID that contacted you to dhatasdigital@gmail.com so we can block it.
Safe habits
- Only accept requests from people you called yourself and know.
- Close banking and payment apps before any remote session.
- Use View only when someone just needs to see your screen.
- Click Disconnect the moment anything feels wrong.
